Sustainability and Hospitality across generations: Circular economy, and different levels of innovation in a changing world.
Going into its third consecutive year, ShiftIn’ is all about shifting innovations in the Hospitality Industry to create a more sustainable present and future. Over this 3-day virtual event, students are able to learn about how the hospitality and tourism industry has had to adapt and evolve using innovative technologies, including AI and grassroots solutions, to help overcome new challenges in such a rapidly shifting environment in trying times.

SEYS Awards Position Paper
Led by SunX Malta, one of our trusted overarching sustainability partners. Individually, evaluate the importance of Earth Charter today in comparison to when it was first written in a 500-word essay. The 6 best papers win a PRIZE! Submission is October 15th. You may start this challenge once you registered.
Explore the matters of the Quality of Life and its relevance to the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. Showcase a critical reflection of current practices and demonstrate the so-called dialectical quality of action cycles for the industry: quality of life, circular economy, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. THIS PAPER IS ONLY FOR POSTGRADUATE-LEVEL STUDENTS.
In collaboration with Viva con Agua, an NGO who provides access to clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene through music, sport and art, participants will ideate the gamification features of their new digital platform through a video. A sustainable competition to create a better world.
In collaboration with Oceanic Global, one of our trusted overarching sustainability partners. Teams will be partnered with high-profile industry experts for five weeks to generate solutions to real-world waste reduction issues laid out by Oceanic global. The teams will then present their solutions during ShiftIn’ with a chance to win an internship!
We will allow a maximum of 3 teams per university per challenge (in total 12 teams per university) to be chosen internally. If you are interested in participating, please contact the university representative who sent you this newsletter. Once teams are chosen, the registration link will be sent.
