Benugo

From August 2020 to May 2021

As a KP, I was responsible for taking stock and deliveries whilst maintaining the hygiene of the kitchen and communicating with the kitchen and restaurant staff at the same time.

Time management was a skill that was essential there, which I believe is useful in any working environment.

Working as a Kitchen Porter isn't a fixed hour job, as you cannot leave a task incomplete and neither can you compromise on the standard of work you're doing. I keep the same attitude towards any work I start, and it doesn't align with my morals to leave work incomplete or compromise on the standard of my work.

Communication & Teamwork are other skills that I built up on; working in a kitchen can be a stressful environment for some. Therefore it is essential that you communicate with your colleagues effectively in order to achieve the best results. I was able to develop on my soft skills, which I think are important in any workplace.
