Florentine Kabefu CV - FHGR Nov 23

Summary

I build systems that empower Africa’s tourism to rise.

With 20+ years of experience across Malawi, the UK, and Switzerland, I’m a Tourism Strategist and MSME Systems Architect currently completing my BSc in Tourism Development at FH Graubünden, Switzerland. I’m also a Certified Professional Marketer (MCIM) and on track to become a Chartered Marketer (CIM UK) by 2026.

I’m the founder of CHIncubator—a concept-in-development tourism innovation ecosystem designed to empower women- and youth-led tourism enterprises through digital transformation, SOPs, and inclusive growth frameworks. My work bridges policy, practice, and purpose, aligning with the Malawi Tourism Masterplan, UN SDGs (8, 9, 5), and AU Agenda 2063.

My career began in hospitality—leading revenue and marketing functions for brands like Protea Hotels by Marriott and Crossroads Hotel—and has evolved into strategic consulting, toolkit development (e.g. MUSALI Toolkit), grant writing, and ecosystem design.

I’m passionate about turning tourism into a tool for community transformation, especially through:
* Capacity-building for MSMEs
* Gender-focused accelerators
*Franchise-ready SOP systems
